I think Open Pros are the lightest rims you can get in the "sensible"
category, ie with a reasonable amount of metal, double eyelets, and not
costing a fortune.

If you find some that are supposed to be a few grams lighter, remember that
weights of rims actually vary from the official weight by as much as +/- 25g
due to the way they're made. So it would be a bit of a gamble.

Mavic claim they're more aerodynamic, but it's debateable whether they're
deep enough to make a significant aero difference to anyone. Find some of
that debate in the rec.bicycles.tech archive.

Maybe the extra depth, the bigger 'v' section, makes them stronger than Open
Pros.

I've been looking into getting some deep-section rims recently.

The DT Swiss RR1.2 has a higher profile (30mm instead of 23mm) but is
heavier than a CXP33. Probably worth the extra weight in a TT.

There's also the Velocity Deep V that looks quite nice (partly because of
all the colours they come in) but haven't got a clue if we can buy them
over here.

Then there's the IRD Cadence Aero. They are 30mm deep, but only 465g. Sounds
suspiciously light. In any case, I don't know anywhere in the UK that would
sell them.
