One of my bikes currently has Jalco rims on Specialized hubs (Allez wheels, though none of the rest of the Allez has escaped the trash collection).
I am planning to upgrade the wheels to something better as they seem to roll very reluctantly indeed. So far I like the Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels, for looks, weight, budget and general reputation.
Any thoughts on these wheels?

They are fine. But why not get a good set of wheels built up by your local shop? They will most probably be far better.
Buy the best hubs that you can afford, then a decent set of rims (Mavics or Ambrosio) and have someone build 'em up.
They will roll better, be more reliable, and will allow you to get replacement parts anytime.
