  1. Today I added another cyclist to the pool.

After 30-minutes of teaching, the 65-year old lady complete beginner
pedalled off into the distance, wearing the widest of grins

What was extra special about this rider was that she had learned on a
bendy Bickerton that had been mothballed in her garage :-))

    What a bike =:-)
    There can't be many left.

    Must be national Bickerton day...

There was one in the bike shed at work today, which I'd not noticed there
    previously.

I'd never ridden one before and it was most disconcerting to have the bars
flex 3 inches towards me whenever i pulled on them on any uphill slope.

My father has one. I am a little ambivalent about it after the time the
seatpost sheared off, pivoting about the seatstays, and dumped me bottom
    first on the road.

I think with a bit of effort I could build a working replica from the
assorted bit of dead Chocolate Bickie that Lt. Col. Larrington (retd.) has
    lurking in his Sheds.

He's lent his "Bickerton Californian" to the lad next door.
