  1. WTF is going on here? They have some ice hockey and it looks deadful,
The is a big black bar at the bottom of the screen.
It looks like they have taken a 4:3 picture chopped the bottom of it and
    stretched
    it to 16:9 'Kin dreadfull.
    Ah the tradgity of widescreen.

Yep its definately bottom chopped off and stretched.

These are the joys of the new era of widescreen, that £3,000 you spent on
    your
widescreen set was not wasted. Just keep repeating that to youself over and
    over again.

Mind you you will have to fork out again for a new high definition one
    because one of the draw
backs of your huge expensive sets is that it so big you can see the picture
    elments.

Still if you have shares in Currys you are laughing all the way to the bank.

While we're on the subject, can anyone tell me why on UKTVHistory I have
about 1" black bars top and bottom and everything is stretched in width?

It's because we have a world run by useless idiots and a population
of mindless sheep who would eat [censored] and like it if it was heavily market
    as Widesh*t.

Anyway it looks fine on my 4:3 telly. No so on my PC set to a 16:9
    window though.

A good tip is that as our vision has one focal point not two you will
find that you don't miss anything viewing in 4:3 so no need for fork out
for a poorer 16:9 viewing platform. And you won't have to watched stretched
    pictures either.

But it's "how the director intended" you know and all the flim buffs think
    the
sun shine out of his widescreen [censored]. Even if it does mean ruining what was
a perfect viewing meduim an replacing with witha crock of expensive ugly
    [censored].

Queue the idiot trolls saying I am wrong.
