Hi
My bike takes a 1" steerer tube. How much does this affect stiffness?
Would running an oversize bar and stem combination pose any problems?
Are stem shims as badly thought-of as seat post shims?

I've done it (OS bars with shim for 1 1/8"😉. No problems, plenty stiff.

I have 3 bikes with stem shims. No problem at all. Shims come standard with many stems.
