  1. hi, i'm new to the forums. i've been doing alot of research about the cts video series. i've been looking for some alternative training due to the fact that my time on the road will be decreased due to a new addition to the family. i thought a trainer was the way to go for added saddle time. i've seen alot of positive & negative feedback throughout the forums. i bought the cycleops fluid2 trainer & it came w/the mountain biking cts dvd. i've done it a few times & seem to think that if you truly give your best effort throughout the entire video, a pretty decent workout can be performed. for me, as a commuter of appx 26 mi a day (to & from work) w/some distance on the weekend, i was sore for a few days. for those of you who are 'seasoned' cyclists, my questions are:

-the intervals that are taught in the cts video series, are they truly effective? have they given you gains on the road, or are they just an effective marketing ploy? do you recommend these videos/dvd's as an alternative training program?

-i was just interested since i was planning on purchasing more of them i.e. tt, crit, climbing, cadence, etc just to be able to 'switch up' the indoor work. plus i can't seem to find some real difinitive answers as to how effective the training intervals truly are. it seems alot of people are looking more for technique in the videos & are disappointed that they are an actual 'workout' video. thanks for all the feedback & help!
