Raleigh frame identification

Photos? Serial sounds like it could be an Asian Record 24 1983 (the
Huffy era) but I'm not the last word on that. Any parts with it dated?
SR posts for example are stamped. Bikes don't have traceable VIN numbers
like cars and most brands have multiple frame vendors.

unfortunately, coverage is 1965-1983/4, and your frame is likely a
later frame.

If your frame is a 24-inch road bike frameset, there were only about
2x of these made in nottingham, a record model-24 (mid 70's) and a
grand-prix 24 model (1972, email me for a page scan), and the parts
were just about identical to the regular 1970's record and grand-prix
models, except maybe the bars that are more narrow and kiddie-sized
shift levers and 160mm or 165mm cranks. This means nervar/(simplex or
huret allvit) gears, weinmann sidepull or centerpull brakes, gb
stem/bars, steel post, plastic brooks saddle, raleigh 501 pedals or
atom 440's.
