Shortly I will be in the lucky position of having enough free time, for all intents and purposes, to train as long and as much as I like.
My current training program is designed for road races and time trials (60km+). I average between 1-3 hours a day (comprised of one or two sessions per day), 6 days a week.
I have been able to find plenty of topics on "training smarter" and using more intensity rather than volume, but not so much on increased volume.
So questions arising from this are:- are there any benefits to devoting more time to the training? Is it a case of just keeping the quality and not worry about the quantity?
If quantity will help me improve what kind of sessions should I be looking at? Big 4hr+ efforts? Shorter session but more of them in a day?
Can you have both quantity and quality??
Help! 😕
