ps. suppose it would be interesting to see what the max.HR is, mine is 201 (cycling, not running).

  7. i'm 32. RHR 56 or so. MHR 210ish. running. never get it over 205 or so biking.

  9. Age 38
RHR?? probably in the mid 80s these days 🙂

  10. why is it interesting by the way? it certainly isn't a case of "him with the lowest RHR is the fittest"

Fwiw my RHR is 46 and I am 27.

    max is 184

It is an indication of cardiovascular and overall fitness. BTW I'm not comparing myself against anyone, and I do find it interesting.

  12. It can't be too much of an indicator of fitness. I was watching the 2005 TdF DVDs yesterday and the announcers were reciting a bunch of statistics on the riders. They said the average pro peloton RHR was 50 bpm. I was a bit surprised.

Mine's been 38-44 for as long as I can remember.

It really doesn't mean much, nor does max HR, per se: a high MHR with a low stroke volume gets you nowhere.

  13. Not sure what RHR is indicative of, but here is mine.

    42 RHR and 190 MHR
    23 years old

  14. Age: 40
RHR: upper 30s (jumps when I take a breath)
MHR: 206 (Bicycle - a couple of years ago)

  15. Age: 42
    RHR: 48
    MAX HR: 190

  16. I guess you and I are the old men in this group.

    age 48.

    RHR 47.

  17. age 50 rhr 48

  18. 48yo/42rhr

  19. age: 29

    RHR: 44
    MHR: 192

  20. Age 24

When I was in a better shape:
RHR: 41 (during the day, I presume it was lower while sleeping)
    MAX: 181
