That's a pretty hefty engine compared to most Whizzers I've seen
(which makes sense for a tandem). (As much as a whizzer ever made
sense.)

Is that a two-stage reduction pully setup?

I've ridden a Whizzer single w/ a smaller engine (I think) for a few
dozen miles & it was damn scary due to frame flex. I hate to think of
what a tandem might feel like. I had always admired Whizzers & wanted
one when I was young. I was very disappointed when I finally got to
ride one. Most came w/ a Whizzer labeled frame. But one could also buy
just the motor, driveline, & adaptors for attachment to an existent
frame, usually a Schwinn balloon tire. I don't remember what kind of
frame the one I rode had. Perhaps some frames were better than others.

The color I remember most was a root beer, maroonish color.
At least it's got the Bianchi Celeste thing going on.

A guy I worked w/ had a Cushman motor scooter. It was downright
dangerous. Worse that the Whizzer. If parts weren't falling off &
jamming under it, it would be dragging parts on the pavement @ the
slightest provocation. (Like turning) I think he crashed on it w/o a
helmet & never rode it again. (In the early '60 helmets were not
common for ridding much of anything) He lived on to get a degree in
physics & become the head of a health physics dept. Miracles never
cease!

Thank God they were both slower than cat s**t in January, John
