Shock! Horror! Vicky Pendleton cycles on road! Horror!
Looking at track bike... It has no brakes!
and...
wait for it...
"Don't you fall off?"
No, Bill, Mr Stud-Muffin dancing newsreader... cyclists learn not to fall
off their bikes with any degree of frequency. And as regards world champion
cyclists, they learn this basic cycling skill quite quickly!AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!

off during his presidency? Once. Now, how often would a person with a more
normal level of intelligence fall off?--

He may be tumbling into the scenery at Camp Freddie^w David on a regular

What's wrong with that?
My wife also didn't know that I had been riding a fixed wheel, no-braked
bike .. 😉To many people who don't follow track-cycling, the thought of riding without
brakes, strapped in on something that carries on spinning the pedals when
you stop 'pedalling is absolutely abhorrent, simply because they can't
comprehend what can be achieved. Maybe "Shock! Horror!" interviews do a lot
more good in the way of explaining at dimwit level exactly what our [1]
heroes actually do.[1] for various values of our and hero ... 😉
What else would you expect from an interview on morning TV?

It's a bit like interviewing a footballer and asking if they get brain
damage when they head the ball..Oh, hang on a minute..

It's a bit like interviewing a footballer and asking if they get brain
damage when they head the ball..given that spontaneous falls are more a feature of early stage
learning (John B's pupils notwithsatnding of course) and this is often
a childhood activity it is more like asking a footballer if he has to
play in pants and vest when he forgets his kitbest wishes
