The instructions with my Zefal hpX frame pump say to "Unscrew cap on barrel end side. Pull out
the washer then inject oil drops into barrel." What kind of oil? How much? How often? Thanks.

Last I heard, 10 weight or sewing machine (if they make such stuff anymore) or 3 in one oil will do.
How often depends on how often you use
