Buy a track pump. You won't regret it.
But that doesn't help if you want to carry the pump on the bike.

I don't know of one like that that's any good.

Instead I recommend one without a hose: Zefal/Truflo HPX. The seal is good
and you won't damage the valve if you support it properly and use it at the
right angle.

Topeak Morph gets a lot of recommendations too. It's a sort of foldable
mini track pump with a hose.

Seconded: Topeak *Road* Morph to be specific (although it can do
schraeder valves too)

I'd agree with Morph. mines the Turbo model with a digital gauge and sems to do the job just fine on Prestas.

Mountain Morph is better for fat tyres. Essentially a larger bore barrel
shifts air more quickly but doesn't reach such a high pressure.

Topeak Master Blaster also very good (at least on road tyres), and somewhat
lighter than the HPX. I have a Master Blaster on the lighter Audax bike,
and a HPX on the heavier tourer.

I liked the old version of the Blackburn Airstick; I have one on the
mountain bike. But not as impressed with the newer one I bought for my other
half's bike; it doesn't seem to pump as well, and feels much less solid.
