As is the better food, transportation, hotels and general care the organizers give all the teams, in the US.

It is clear that the T of Calif doesn't have the same empahsis as the Tour de France. It is early in the season and individual nriders (Cancellara, Bettini) have other objectives for the season and use it as preparation. But the teams are motivated. Everyone recognizes that Discovery will be the one to beat, but both CSC and T-Mobile have said they will be one of the strongest in the race and do want to do well.
What was interesting that when I asked a few T-Mobile guys about their personal goals for the Tour they said they wanted to do well for the "Mannschaft" (team)...
(I have Michael Barry and Aaron Olson interview on my site, but Kim Kirchen and Gerald Ciolek is not translated yet..)

You're not suppose to talk about "Die Mannschaft" in here. You might not know that because you're new in here. But from now on...

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Many of the worlds best riding around the USA for a week, and enjoying it? Grand success after the first year? Maybe it fizzles after a few years, or else it becomes a staple.
