Ok, I’m really not sure what method I should use to calibrate my SRMpro. I've read many of the posts exchanged between Andy Coggan and Bob Tobin over at the wattage list (including posts dating back to 2003). Yet, I have no idea how/what method to use and I’ll-be-damned if I’m sending them to Germany over the festive period (especially if they can’t calibrate them accurately themselves)
I've got weights and a spirit level waiting to rock 'n' roll. Can anyone guide me, please?

Cool. You are on your way. I need to get on this as well. My major concern is the weights. Did you get yours certified? mike
Hi I was hoping to ask for a bit more clarity. On the SRM web site they show a picture of two 35lb weights attached to one of the rank arms. Do you have to use that much weight? and how do you have to do a full revolution with the weight attached. And one last thing, they state that you should use a pedal blank, can I just use a regular pedal? Thx in advance. I'm hoping someone will get back to me soon as I'm in the middle of this now.

I have read several places now, that you should use a minimum of around 20 kg. of weight to get an accurate calibration. (that's what Uli at SRM recommends).
You shouldn't do a full revolution with the weights attached - just follow the guide... Take the zero offset without any weight, and then WITH the weight when the crank arm is at 3 o' clock (make SURE the crank arm is PERFECTLY horizontal). Repeat on the other side. Use a magnet to activate the cranks (the battery turns off after app. 30 sec.).
You do not need a pedal plank - just take the zero offset WITH the pedals installed on BOTH crankarms - that's fine :-)

I use 2x25lb weights. I verified the weight (with chain and hook) at a postal/shipping store. It only tales ~20 min's and you're good to go.
Try and have a look at cycling.tv, video on demand and then have a look at the CSC 2007 entry. In the last 3+ minutes they show how to calibrate an SRM 😄

Bummer - It has disappeared from the list! I never got to see it 😠
