band on cable stops

I'm looking to install V's on my old Raleigh Activator, (I'm doing no matter
what you say!). Such is the age of this frame that the rear brake cable is
threaded through the top tube. i want to get some old school band on cable
stops in order to install the the v-brakes.

Will these provide suitable tension for power transfer?
Does anyone know where I can source these, preferably new, preferably some
nice fancy light-weight alloy?

Google should serve you well, but try the search term "clamp on" as
well. If it were my bike, I'd just get really nice and slick teflon
cable and use the existing routing. I do hope you've considered the
cable pull issues that come up when switching from cantis to V brakes.
You'll need new levers. Again, if it were my bike, I'd just upgrade to
some nicer cantis and fresh cables. Much cheaper and less of a pain in
the ass.

I too wondered but taking the example landotter gives above, if you click on
the picture for a larger image, the packaging reads differently to the sites
description, i.e. for V-brakes. I still have doubts but if i were an
engineer i'd over-engineer everything, worrier you see. Should be fine

When I switched from cantilever to V-brake several years ago, I got one
of these ($24)
with only one
cable stop, and it has never moved, even on my mountain bike with high
speed and technical trail braking.
