I just re-covered my moto saddle with heavy-duty vinyl and it turned out
really well.

Replace the whole cover with some good, stetchy calf hide.
Need only do a few stitches in the nose, glue, clamp and trim.

I use one of those silicone glues like ShoeGoo, Elmers Stix-All,
whatever. Ugly, but it keeps the situation from getting worse.

I just recovered my Velo Jet titanium 200gm Flite saddle with red
suede, using tubular tire glue only. Turned an $18 ebay saddle into,
well, something like a $22.95 saddle at least !!

That stuff is sooooo sticky, you must be extremely careful not to get
it on top of the saddle while you are stretching the leather. The
next time, I'd try to laminate the leather with something to protect
it like wax paper or cling-wrap, so that when I got done I could peel
back the lamination and have a perfectly clean saddle cover.
