I'm going to be travelling to Manchester for a World Cup Track event in a couple of weeks with an athlete I coach and I need to take a good floor pump with me (i.e. something that can go up to 180 or 200 psi). The pump I usually take is rather heavy (a Silca Super Pista) and weight is a consideration for us with regards to how much the airlines will let you carry. Three or four hundred grams here, three or four hundred grams there -- it all adds up pretty quickly. Can anyone recommend a pump that can go to high pressures but isn't quite as heavy as my Silca Super Pista (which weighs at something around 6 lbs)?

Stevek,
You can always do like Michael Vick of the Atlanta Falcons does and put it on a gold chain around your neck and act like it is a water bottle, lol.

Maybe not the cheapest way, but you can ship items ahead of time. Non critical items that can be bought or borrowed on site if the package does not arrive. Contact the organizer of the event, a bike shop in the area, your hotel, etc. and have the package shipped there. Do it early so there is plenty of time to call the place you have it shippid to and confirm its there. Or call up the shipper and get them to find the lost package.
