From CyclingNews:
"'Soigneur 2' tells a story about Freddy Viaene, a colleague from the
Discovery Channel team. "Viaene isn't welcome anywhere: burned his hands,
got spat out by the peloton. He knew how the Americans work, he worked with
.... " several leading riders, 'Soigneur 2' was quoted in Het Laatste Nieuws.
QuickStep's popular soigneur, Dirk Nachtergaele, apparently said to
Lefevere, "you can't take that guy in our team!" Despite this Lefevere
insisted and wanted Viaene in the team."
IIRC, Viaene was Emma O'Reilly's replacement, one of the Belgian Mafia Johan
brought on to the Posta/Discovery team.
There is also an interesting bit I've come across about Julien Devries, the
diabetic mechanic on Postal/Discovery, in which it is recounted that at a
party he was drunk and telling everyone present about all the drugs the
Posties were using. I'll try to have a translation up later this week.
Cheers!
