Brake Power on cheaper brakes

Weight via materials..basic design the same and the resulting
effectiveness the same as well.

2007 Centaur and Record are both "differential" meaning dual-pivot in
front, single-pivot in rear. This saves a bit of weight in the rear,
where Campy says the extra braking force of a dual-pivot is wasted
anyway (since the rear wheel will skid under strong braking).

Myself, I have older Campy Record brakes that are dual-pivot front and
rear, and I like it that way (maybe I just don't brake hard enough to
skid the rear). I think Shimanos are dual-pivot front and rear, and in
some recent year, Campy Centaur was dual-pivot front and rear.

To answer your question, though, I think my Campy Veloce (low-end
gruppo) dual-pivot brakes stop just as well as my Campy Record
dual-pivots. The differences are in adjustability, finish, titanium
bolts and bits, and bearings in the pivots.

For info-All Campag thru Veloce are 'differential', SP rear and DP
front.
