Since the Ksyrium Elite rims are not made of ceramic, the question isn't "should" you but rather, "could" you? I don't know for sure whether or not ceramic-specific brake pads would work on aluminum rims. I'm skeptical, but what do I know?

My bike came stock from the manufacturer with Ksyrium Elites and standard brake pads. I could certainly imagine a better-performing brake pad/rim combination -- at least I *hope* that's possible, though my complaints aren't drastic -- but I have no idea whether changing the brakes to ceramic-specific pads would get me closer to this hypothetical improvement or farther from it.

In short: I don't know, I'm just killing time waiting for a phonecall so I'm blathering on the cycling forums. Somebody shut me up!

I've been looking at the Ksyrium Elite wheels as an upgrade. The website description does not mention ceramic braking surfaces, so I would think they need only standard brake pads. However, on checking the attached "User Guide", it clearly says "we advise the use of brake pads specifically recommended for Ceramic braking surfaces." You may want to check with your local dealer to be sure. Mike
