Synthetic grease VS regular grease

Have you ever hered the saying "Oils ain't Oils"

all greases and oils are synthetic to a degree. the only advantage i can think of with the more expensive greases is that they might be more water proof. they would also have a higher load rateing but on a bicycle it dont matter much, unless your very heavy of course. In the good old days we would build the wheels with vasoline and wash it out with petrol after assembly, then put a little drop of light weight oil in each side. But then we used to rebuild them every week. Thank God for sealed bearings!!!!!

I guess your right, most likely I will see no difference at all so I might as well use the regular wheel bearing grease I still got left in my garage.

I use boat trailer wheel bearing grease.

Marine grade grease are supposed to be most weather resistant of the lot. Big tub for cheap from any auto/marine supply shop. At the end of the day, any auto grease is cheaper than those 'bike specific' grease from LBS.
