  1. I was walking past the entrance of a local hospital today and there was
    a woman stood outside with a couple of plod next to her.

    Woman "I thought my driving was quite good."
    Plod "No, you skidded and crashed into a barrier."

    Things you overhear outside my local hospital:

    Me: If you don't move your car [from the yellow cross-hatchings between the
    hospital drive and the ambulance dropoff point at A&E] immediately I'm
    putting my D-lock through your window.

    OK, you only hear it in my imagination, but if you look closely at my ears,
    you may see the blood vapour venting out of them.
