  1. Not sure if they'd be any good on an MTB, but for guys with big-time
80's BMX nostalgia, it's pretty tempting.

Used to sell tons of those to the rug rats back in my shop days.
I'm sure it has the same sort of warm spot as Ground Controls do for us
    ancient mountain bikers.

I hated Ground Controls, did nothing for me on the trail conditions
that I rode at the time...

I suspect that's true of every tire. No universal design out there. In
Colorado GCs were a big improvement over the the heavy square block
    knobbies we had been riding.

How about "Farmer Johns"? Worst... tires... ever! If Tomac actually
raced them, it's yet another testament to his handling skills.

In a faintly amusing aside, I was telling an old BMX/MTB buddy of mine
about these new Comp IIIs. He reminded me that he used them on his
Diamond Back Apex, and that he handed them down to me (the treads were
worn down, but it was better than riding with my herniated sidewalls.)
I had a funny deja vu feeling about all this....
