I'm guessing that bamboo (like other woods) is a unidirectional
fiber... ie it's good in bending but lousy in torsion. That would make
it a bad choice for frame tubing. But sure, you can get away with a lot
of things if you take it easy. -

Did you have a look at the "hemp fiber seat cluster"?
Calfee also commissioned a beautiful poster, for those who can't afford it (or the frame), it does make a lovely desktop background. 😉
