Hi, my PT pro has been really unreliable over the last few weeks of more or less non-stop Welsh rain. Yesterday it worked fine to ride into work (fairly rainy), then wouldn't work at all in the evening , so I opened the cover up when I got home and it was pretty wet around the batteries. I dried it out, put it back in the bike, spun the wheels and was getting readings again. I left it in the garage overnight as normal (it's pretty cold out there but dry) and when I jumped on it this morning - nothing, not getting any signal from the hub.
Is this likely to be water condensing in the hub? If I dry it out again, should I be keeping it in the house overnight until the weather gets a bit warmer or drier?

Have you checked the batteries are not empty? I suppose, when taking a bike from indoors to outdoor temperature garage, there can be vapor just few millgrams inside the hub which could be condensed.
Not sure if I can really help your particular situation but I have experienced similar things with my Powertap Pro (only 2 months old).
Mine is kept in an 'outhouse/shed' where I do my turbo work and just recently it has started to experience drop-outs (--- on the CPU for Watts), probably 3 or 4 times for about 2 seconds each during an hour long session.
I have changed the batteries in the hub and CPU but still the drop-outs occur.
It also came to my mind that perhaps condensation is getting in to the hub because the bike/wheel is left (kind of) outdoors overnight, and that maybe I should be bringing it in overnight....
Have you managed to solve the problem? My powertap has also recently stopped working and I would appreciate any advice.
Symptoms:- no power or speed readings, no transmission icons. "Test mode 2" (receiver) produces pulses, but wheel magnet (test 4) and torque (test 6) test modes do not. Fresh batteries all round does not improve things.
Wheel was left outside (but covered so no direct rain) in 5-10degree temps for a month or so with no use.

If you've ever left your wet shoes outside overnight, you recall there's not alot of drying going on. I had to dry mine out again last weekend. I left it for three days.
I haven't had any luck with my SL and the rain. The first had to be returned. The second time I had to let it dry for three days. At least I didn't have to return it. I've given up on using my PT in the rain.

Weird, I've done quite a number of rides through some quite heavy downpours and both my SLs work fine. I do need to make sure the CPU's contacts are kept dry enough (either a plastic wrap cover or a dab on the contacts of water resistant gel/grease that doesn't conduct electricity), since if they get wet it can stop recording.
Both my SLs were replaced early in their lives though for other faults, which were common in early models but they seem to have been fixed with some mods over the last year.

A few nights in the airing cupboard did the trick and it's working fine again now. A couple of drop-outs in the (very heavy) rain yesterday, but otherwise ok.
