  1. My son called me in to the living room whilst I was making breakfast
with this shout "Mum, unicycle's on the tele".

It was a short piece on one of the British sky programmes (possibly on
discovery). It was about how bicycle wheels are gyroscopes without the
cage, but that you don't even need 2 wheels. (or something like that).

Gaz Top says "How do you unicycle?" after failing miserably to ride
without moving (didn't anyone tell him that he had to pedal?). Anyway,
unicycling guy says 'You need 3 things - practice, balance and more
    practice".

    Anyone know who it was?

  2. When you mentioned "Gaz Top" (aka Gareth Jones) it sounded very very
similar to something I saw while channel hopping many years ago.

As far as I remember, they were explaining about how bicycles could
stay upright even though they only had two wheels. As intermissions
between each sentence they would cut to this guy riding a freestyle uni
for a few seconds. One was him riding, one was him with one of those
unis with the saddle replaced with handlebars, one was him juggling
clubs, one was him hopping sideways, that sort of thing.

The article about this then closed with what cathwood said, Gaz trying
to ride a uni and failing, then the guy shows up on a 5ft giraffe and
idles. Gaz asks how hard it is to ride a unicycle, and he responds "You
need 3 things. Practice, balance... and more practice".

Who was the bloke? According to this really old
thread posted at the time it was somebody called 'Ken
Farquhar' (http://www.dodifferent.co.uk/); try saying that aloud when
    there's kids about!
