  1. I am new to a magnetic trainer my nieghbor loaned me this winter. The question I have is about where to set the wheel spindle. How tight against the tire do I push? To little pressure seems to slip and as I adjust it in tighter I've been using it right where the slipping stops. Is this correct? I know it's going to be different then the road but I can't help feeling like I'm not getting all the resistance out of the machine. Info: it's a 2 yr. old Blackburn magnetic unit. Any comments appreciated.

Where you have it is fine, just so that there is no slippage when you're pedalling hard.

    Thanks for the response.
