  1. Has anyone used these trainers? Seem like a good deal ($140-190 AUD, but with trainers do you get what you pay for? (am I better off in the long run spending the $330+ that my LBS suggest on their trainers?)

    Also, are you better off getting a trainer that you can change resistance while riding, or does just changing gear do the job?

    I would spend less and make sure you actually use it. From my personal experience interest in the trainer lasted for a week before I simply gave up using it regularly. It takes a lot of mental stamina to keep up a trainer workout programme.

    There are three models of the Trans-X Trainer, the two higher end ones have remote cables for adjusting the load.
