I've been back training for 6 weeks after a complete absence of 3y - and I mean very little training at all. My current FTP is sitting at 250w.
I train on the turbo, use a SRMpro and have put in an average of 7h/w consisting of SST / 100% FTP since I’ve started back. My FTP has increased by ~5w per week. I expect this will level out fairly soon (although one can always hope🙄 )
Question: I’ve got 12h week to train. I’m recovering well from the 7h week and I don’t feel like I’m under much stress. Is there a general rule of thumb with regards to increasing weekly TSS? I'm going to start using cycle peaks and, apparently, the recommendation is not to increase the load by more than 5TSS/d/w. I don't think this is that much though? Should I just rack up to 12hours and use a little “art” to determine what I can handle or has anyone got a better idea?
Any comments would be appreciated.
