  1. Further to an accident I suffered the other day, I'm now about to embark on a claim for compensation.

    I'm looking for a resource that details compensation costs for the relevant damages, injuries.

    I don't think there's such a beast. I'd put it in the hands of a solicitor
    and let them do the negotiating.

    They do it by checking case law, but you can always just use an educated
    guess and see if the insurance company will go for it. I reckon a
    gashed arm and some scrapes and bruises has to be worth a few hundred
    quid if there are no complications. Obviously if it goes as far as
    legal action it pays to do a bit more homework.
