No, they are different in size (most likely). What you can do is buy slick tires designed to
fit an MTB.

Or, if you're lucky with the brake boss placement, you may have enough adjustment to get V-brakes to
hit 700C rims, which gives plenty of choice of road tyre for your MTB

I put on a set of 26 x 1.5" slicks on my full suspension MTB and enjoyed them tremendously. Pumped
up to 80 psi they rolled nicely while the suspension soaked up rough pavement. A 50 mile ride
consisting of 1/3 washboardy gravel road and 2/3 smooth pavement was quite easy.

I have a pair of Hutchinson Top Slick Golds 1.2".. They are very well made, and even come in a 1"
version, but I didn't know if that would work properly on my MTB rims. They are under $10US each
