I want to buy my husband a watch for Christmas. He is a serious cyclist and logs about 2,000 miles/year. He has climbed Mt Ventoux and Alp d'Huez. Anyone have any recommendations for a watch that he can wear daily and that would also be sporty. Not too complicated. Thanks.

I don't wear one but have several very nice watches. One that I don't have is a Movado.
If I did wear a watch I believe I would like one of these. -
I use a Polar F6 which also works as a hear rate monitor. Doesn't look like all those with ultra many functions and lots of buttons '80s style.
I stores your training sessions and allows you to see the amount of calories you've burnt among other things, and logs it.
It doesn't have a great deal of functions, but it is simple and I use it for about every activity I do, cycling, running, rowing. etc. They come in a great variety of colors, so there's lots of options in the respect.
I love mine and wouldn't trade it for another watch.Perhaps go to a sports store a take a look at their selections?

hello from canton, ohio.
the timex ironman is what i wear for a simple yet functional sports watch. i buy the model with the stainless band and thinks it's plenty presentable for casual/work wear.

your question is a bit open.
do you have a price in mind?
watches can go from $4 to $400,000
itd be useless to recommend a G-Shock when you are looking for a Patek
and silly to recommend a Rolex Yachtmaster when you're aiming for a Timex.
a little more info may be needed to get a truly helpful answer.

Thanks to all the responses to my email. I appreciate the feedback. Schmuzzy, my price range is up to $250.

Festina's Tour de France watches go for about $300 USD but you can find them online for under $250. The leather band ones are a little cheaper than that. -

I am using Polar S725X for myself.basically every I need as a cyclist are include in this watch:
- Heart Rate Monitor
- Cycling Computer
- Candence Sensor
- Running Pod for alternative trainingalso this watch working with the Polar software and you can download and monitor your performance on the computer. which is good for someone who love to see more data.

Climber/cyclists would love a military style watch with tritium capsule markers & hands that glow brightly without needing to be charged by light. A nylon web band is impervious to weather & sweat. Simple, rugged, practicle and good looking (like me). Right in your price range, too. (not like me)🙄
