I have been thinking about going with a new compact Campy 07 setup as the prices and quality seem to be very good. I was going to go for Veloce as I don't really care about carbon.
I've read some posts lately about the new genearation of Ergo shifters that are on all groups up to Centaur. One problem that was noted is that the front derailleur can't be trimmed. If this is the case it will drive me nuts. The posts I have seen say that the 07 low end levers are based on Xenon which makes me concerned. Has anyone used the 07 Veloce or Centaur shifters?
It sounds like the only 07 shifters worth buying are Chorus and up. In the past I have used Veloce and they worked fine. Can anyone confirm this?
My thought is to buy 06 Ergo levers and an 06 back derailleur and buy 07 crank, ft der, brakes and whatever else I need.

Wouldn't the 2006 Ergo be 9 speed, and the new 2007 cassette 10 speed?
Campagnolo left (front) shifters have more shift positions than shimano. Thus you can position the front derailleur this way. The double and triple models use the same shift levers. I would have no hesitation recommending the 07 Veloce levers. I've sold Campagnolo since 99.

yep, don't like 'em..order 2006 Centaur or Veloce or 2007 Chorus or Record ERGO.

All Campag has been 10s, from Veloce on up for 1/2 a decade.
