Every had a note put on your bike by an officious security guard who is uptight about where you've parked your bike - even though there are no signs so say you can't park where you did and it cause no safety issues?
I just got home from the Aust V Great Brittian game at Suncorp Statium. Me and a mate rode our bikes and parked right at the door as: 1. there are no bike racks at Suncorp Stadium; 2. where the bikes were parked did not obstruct any doors; 3. there was no sign saying we couldn't park where we did; 4. we wanted as much security as possible from being parked at the door; and 5. we reckon parking right at the door is our privilege/reward for making the effort to ride to the stadium.
When we came out of the ground some ignoramus had left a note about I bikes being impounded for being parked at the door.
What a [censored]. I'll be sending a letter to the relavent minister suggesting this imbecile receives some additional training, and that some bike racks ar installed.
Bikes deprive honest carpark operators of revenue and are therefore anathema to said operators, who usually own the whole place and can do whatever the hell they want to you once you enter it.

Hey, you won. You got your park. Ignore his silly note. (but I agree with you about the racks should be there).
If it came to pass rather than just a threat: They would either have a specific right to destroy your lock and move your bike, or they would be illegally damaging your property and stealing your bike. Either way a visit to the police and a phone call to a solicitor who gives one-off free advice would be interesting.

sorry adamF, but im going to have to let you know you are pretty wrong on this one seeing that both the BCC and operators of suncorp stadium very intensely barrack for the use of public and other forms of transport when a game is being played at the stadium due to the extreme LACK of carparking both on and around the stadium... so the security guard in question here was just exercising his perogative to be a d*ckhead, and SHOULD have some stern words put to him. If S&P werent parked in any areas that would obstruct people getting in and out of the stadium then they should be applauded for 1)not driving and paying the stupid rates to park at the few spaces at the stadium or blocking off a surrounding residents driveway and 2) doing their bit to get others home quicker on the already congested public transport after a game, but not taking it.
S&P, good on you for taking action on this, i would start by writing to the manager of the stadium and then the BCC. Good luck!!

By all means complain. Some security guards and even police officers are so junior or just plain dumb, they can get the rules wrong and over step their jurisdiction.
A few years ago this constable issued a traffic infringement against me for a car accident that was caused by a car suddenly turning right from the left lane and causing me to T-bone him in the right lane. He just couldn't see the fact that the other guys was way in the wrong. I ended up having to have the infringement over turned through NRMA representation. --
