I've been trying to learn to hop from crank to the object I hopped onto
and was wondering if I should do this seat in or sif. also any tips on
doing this would be appreciated.

We generally call that "going to rubber" from your crank grab or "crank
to rubber". I learned seat-in, but it might be easier seat out because
you can get more flex in your knees.

i do it seat in, i dip down the tire a tiny bit before i jump up. You
have to really pull up on the uni to keep your feet stuck to the pedals
