Not only are these rocks the extreme in MTBing, if you look to the far lower right of the picture, that's the road down there eh, that's a 300ft drop, and the drop starts immediately where the trees are on the right.

I've seen guys do far more narrow trails than this, but those trails weren't rocks like this.
It is an optical illusion. The drop's not that big--maybe 30 ft. max, and from there it's a slope to the road. Further, while definitely a black diamond trail, it's a rideable trial with minimal risk and exposure. For true exposure to terminal drop (a drop that kills), check out the Portal trail in Moab, UT. That one is a bona fide killer. Dakota ridge is merely deeply technical.
