Bar end / Tri brake levers

hey thanks for the link. I went to the local bike shop near work, the bike fella said you wont feel much difference as the springs in the brake calipers would strong enuf to eliminate cable slack.

The shop had a Giant Trinity bike set up with the smallest brake levers I have ever seen, so I gave them a squeeze. Front brake felt pretty responsive, but the rear was pretty spongy, I guess that would be due to the cable length. So possibly the spring loaded lever would aid in the rear brake lever ....

I raced triathlons for 10+ years until "retiring" due to parenthood (last tri-race in 1998) so I know the tri mentality pretty well. Your quote is spot-on for many tri-heads.
