On the weekend I bought a lovely Ladies Repco Roadster (circa 1930's/40's). Skirtguards, chainguard, remmants of beautiful decals, original Brooks saddle. Restoration plans are to rebuild the 28' rims, fiddle with the rear hub & stabilise the paintwork.

Gorgeous aren't they? My eldest daughter got one for a birthday present - she's put the renovation bike on ice as a result.

They were really helpful in the shop. Let her take a whole range of bikes out for a test run and talked her through the range of brake options and gearing options. Spent hours with her over a number of days.

It's red... she reckons you don't need gears if its red.

beautiful lugged frame = drooool....

These do have a real retro quality about them, but a friend of mine contends
that they are just cheap, crappy bikes that have gained a cool factor and
become trendy. Have a look at the quality of the hubs, BB and stopping power
of the brakes and I think you may well agree. Verging on overpriced Kmart
bikes.

They do have *wonderful* bells, a good copy of an old English design.
They give a very loud sonorous dong, not the tinny ding like inferior
bells :-)
