  1. Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any free cycle stats software I can get? At the moment I'm using a 30 day trial version of the excellent CycliStats (www.cyclistats.com) where I can enter my ride distances, times routes etc and the software produces graphs of how your mileage is (hopefully) inproving. I don't really think it's worth the $49 for the full version so are there any cheaper alternatives? I guess I could make some forms and graphs by importing my data to Excel but I'd rather be our riding my bike! 🙄

    Many thanks!

Wow, this looks exactly what I was after - I did numerous Google searches but didn't find this - many thanks Walrus, appreciate the link. 🙂

I have used CycliStats for about 3 years now and I love it. They are always improving the program and all upgrades (about 12 so far) are free.

The advantage over online cycling programs (which I have tried over the years) is that you can't post your data when the server is down (which can happen quite often--what do you expect for free?), and you are at the mercy of the web-host (sometimes the sites simply disappear altogether--again, what do you expect for free?).

I have experience both in the past. It's very frustrating to diligently log all your ride data for 18 months, only to try to log on one day and find that the site has been abandoned and all your data is gone!

And no, I do not have any financial stake in Cyclistats. :p It's just that I prefer to control my own data. Amortized over the past three years, it has cost me about .90 a month, which is well worth it.

  5. Thanks for the response Bobby - I currently log my rides on Cyclistats, cyclog.co.uk and an Excel spreadsheet so barring a major catastrophe I will always have a backup (well, until my Cyclistats 30-day trial ends).

I think I may end up just registering with Cyclistats anyway as it is an excellent programme and am sick of using my unwieldly Excel. 🙂

I was very happy with Cyclistats for the whole time I used it. The only reason I am going to stop using it after the first of the year is that I've got a powertap now. Other than power, Cyclistats rocks and the customer service is the best you can get.

  7. Hi

why not try cyclestats @ aesyscomputing.co.ukcycle

this is my own utility for logging cycling data...
