Is this the reason the BMA and many A&E staff say what they do about cycle helmets?

I believe the majority that passed that motion at the bma reps meeting were absolutely ignorant of the facts, not interested, fat car addicts , thought they were rubber stamping a' good thing'. Clearly many of them think their head is like a water melon and that's as much as they can cope with. These figures are quite beyond them. They are not all of the doctors, just a proportion of those that prefer committee meetings to riding their bikes.

I wish that idiot was local - opportunity for local press stirring - "Dr xyz's approach to patient care - if it works on melons, it's good enough for my patients".
Even that presupposes that strapping a helmet to the melon in question would have made a blind bit of difference. I had a spare melon recently and thought about trying it on camera, but couldn't find a helmet I didn't want to keep.
