Bizarrely last night I was wondering what bikes Kraftwerk owned. I
reckoned they would either prefer old steel classics, or full-on
carbon. Futuristic or retro but not inbetween is the Kraftwerk way.

On close inspection, I think that is an Alan. I had a cyclo-cross version,
until I ran it into a drainage ditch in training.

The caption does indicate that it used to be his bike. Looks like a
good excuse for a renovation project to me. Alans were /the/ thing in
their day, and there won't be many of them left around. Although it has
clips, straps and hoods missing, and the screw-on cable guides have
come adrift, it seems to have the bulk of its Campag Record groupset
intact. If I'm not mistaken, someone had a CatEye Micro bike computer
on it at one time.

ISTR a problem with the bonding failing at the lugs on early models.

You can get them re-bonded. It is easier to find someone to do it now
than in the 80's.
