I remember seeing this story on the local (Ohio) newscast--- still just as chilling to
read about it.

Is it my imagination, or am I reading more and more stories about drivers "losing control."

They can be driving down a straight interstate at 11 a.m. on a clear day and lose control. Or they
can be rounding a wide corner and suddenly lose control.

What are they doing, drifting off the road on to the shoulder and over-correcting? Maybe they are
trying to drive their trucks/SUVs like they drive a car and zipping around corners?

I think I have only lost control (of a car or truck) twice in my life. One was due to a defective
tire that was losing air and the other was to avoid T-Boning a car that crossed in front of me. Both
times I was pretty young, under 21, and not very experienced at driving.

Yes. That doesn't mean more of those incidents are actually happening, though. You just hear about
them more.

This article quotes a cop as saying there was a spilled fast food meal on the front seat, and he
believes it was a factor. --Karen M.
