  1. Hi guys
have decided to get the Giant CRX 4, keeping in mind i'm on a tight budget what tools are essential for everyday cycling? I'm thinking problems that happen frequently i.e punctures.
So far I have got tyre levers and an allen key multi tool i.e topeak X-Tool
Also not so much a tool but a spare inner tube as well (anyone got an idea on potential cost?)
    cheers guys

  2. Get tire strips like Mr. Tuffy or the like. Also use tires with Kevlar or similar properties for cummuting! The boss won't be too happy if you show up 30 minutes late because you had a flat, I think. I ride almost every day on my commuter bike, and only have like 1-2 flats a year, which I think i indeed acceptable. Much better statistics than the train or bus, which are late, on strike etc. about every week (or so it feels)! 🙂

Anyway, if you have tire levers, multitool, a sparetupe, a couple of self adhesive patches and a small pump, I don't think I can come up with anything you couldn't fix yourself, atleast temporarily.

  3. I can recommend the Topeak Hexus. It will get you home barring all but the most disastrous failures..
