Which light set for dark roads (available online)

I'd second that EL530, I've got two and they are scorchingly bright.
Geargurl or zbikenut on eBay will get you one for around £27
delivered. Much better than the often £40-£50 seen here in the UK.

Do you include rechargeable batteries (i.e. just not dynamo)?
In which case I'm pleased with my new Electron EHP310 Twin 5w-10w NiMH
set.

Tried them out properly for the first time last night on an unlit
towpath and they were just fine.

These are great value for money but cost nearly 130 quid.

20 +15 = 35W halogen bulbs.

Yes - rechargeable batteries suit me fine... but any lights that use
batteries will also work on rechargeable batteries, won't they?

They look good.. but appear to be a discontinued item...

Yes you're right. What I meant was sets with a dedicated battery pack
rather than normal AA or C cells.

Ah yes, and what looks like the replacement is another 10 quid, but
they still seem to have a lot more cheaper sets on offer than most sites
