That's a lovely colour.
Going back to the other recent post about how to choose a colour for a
re-spray, this was easy as the blue matches our club kit (CC Luton)!
Got the re-spray done at Argos Racing Cycles who made a lovely job of
it and added the water bottle bosses for me at the same time. They
turned it round in just over 2 weeks and it cost me about £140
including the carriage, minor repair and the bosses. On a pure cost
basis, the frame should have gone to the tidy tip, but the lugwork on
it was just too pretty to stick in a skip.
The forks, bottom bracket, brakes, levers, mudguards and cables are all
new. The bars, stem, chainset, chainring, chain, saddle and seatpin
were all in my "giant box of old cycling debris". The wheels have been
pinched off my track racing bike but will hopefully still be in fit
condition to be used again next season.
All told, it's cost me about £320 to re-use this frame. I could have
got a 2007 Specialized Langster from the LBS for £350, but I didn't
like the colour. ;-)
It's a very comfortable ride, far less harsh than my aluminium Tifosi
CK7 audax / Winter bike (partly due to the steel frame and the long
chainstays).
All I have to do now is learn how to spiiiiiiiiiiin!
