  1. I have Tiagra flightdeck 9 speed front shifters and derailler. It trims ok going from the small chain ring to the large chain ring but not back again. It almost always clicks straight through onto the small chain ring. I have tried a few of my mates bikes that have shimano with mixed results. Some trim down nicely and others not, but no consistency in the models.

Should the Tiagra be able to trim down easily? If so, is there an adjustment that I can make to get it to work? The unit looks fairly closed up to adjustments.

  2. Sounds like a trip to the LBS is in order. 🙄

Hey, Carbon, that seems like your standard answer tonight. Why not take a few minutes and check out the proper adjustment outlined at www.parktool.com. The guy is asking for help, not directions to his LBS.....

From experience, Tiagra is a joke for trim (as is 105). It is when you reach Ultegra/DA trim actually works....

  5. Capwater for things like this the LBS is most often the best solution. I think many would agree. 🙄
