What's the difference between normal platforms and the pro platforms from Bedford? Also, does anyone know how much abuse the standard BC from Bedford can take? Would it be worth it to pay twice as much for the street BC. I can't ride yet, but don't want to buy a BC that will get decimated when I get better.
the normal plates are short, and the pro plates are alot longer. Bedford should be selling some lowered pro plates soon, and those are awesome.
the difference from the standard bc and the street BC, is the the standard has a non sealed hub, a double walled rim, and short plates. the pro street has a triple walled rim, a sealed hub, and pro plates.

Hopping over a 7 set rail... I made it over and and cleared the set, but the impact apparently wasn't good for the wheel...
Whoa whoa whoa, stay AWAY from those rims. Those are race rims, They take 1 1/8 tires, Thats sooo tiny. The rims cant take much either. Youd only want that if you were using it just for going fast.

I think that BC plate style that evan ismaking is going to be the standard soon. Mine have a 5" drop from the bolt and they are LIGHT! Plus if I want them a bit higher, I can simply add a thin plate to the top of the foot bars, which can easily be attached and removed.

I think your plates are lowered too much, you want the bolt way closer to your foot. If you try to hop you will either have to squeeze really hard on the sides or your feet will come off the plates a few inches.

That is if your using a bolt. you could add a second bolt or metal strip.

I finally got all the stuff for my bc at my house. it looks great but I haven't got to ride it because i and to go to the doctor with my shoulder that I hurt yesterday doing a cool trials line.
I came up with an idea for something that attaches to the axle bolt; it's drop is adjustable to fit your foot *and* the curvature of the top of your foot. It's spring-loaded and so it's not as rigid or uncomfortable the axle bolt, and is used soley for hopping. I'll be posting pics asap.
Yay BCing! I can hop and drop curbs now. Its awesome 😉 ! But, its fall here and the leaves are, well, falling. Its also been wet and cold so I haven't been riding at all for the past little while. I can't wait for the weather to get nicer. That will rock!

Its not going to get warmer, just dryer 🙂
Trust me thats better weather to ride in then 110F, which it is here in the summer.
Mike has a handlebar bc. I like to try to keep the bc as close to its original design as possible. The brake was pushing it though. Tire guard is df pushing it, but it could help SOO much stuff i dont care.
