Heartbeat Geelong Otway Challenge 2006

The Heartbeat Geelong Otway Challenge cycling event raises funds for Heartbeat Geelong and is usually held on the first Sunday after the Melbourne Cup in November. In previous years, the ride started and finished at the Barwon Valley Fun Park on the Barwon River.

[b]In 2006, the Otway Challenge starts and finishes at the Grovedale Hall in Reserve Road, Grovedale.[/b]

Otherwise the route remains unchanged. It proceeds along Boundary, Gharzeepore and Mt Duneed Roads before joining the Cape Otway Road to Moriac. From Moriac, it proceeds via Bambra and Deans Marsh to the climb over Mt Benwerrin to Lorne. Most riders stop at the cafes of Lorne for lunch. The return journey takes the Great Ocean Road back through through Anglesea, then turns up Forest Road to Moriac. Some may even take a leisurely afternoon tea in Anglesea, or perhaps Moriac. From Moriac, the return journey retraces the outward route back to Grovedale. The distance is 152km.

I think that might be the one ,the only thing i was shaw about was it went through the otways and i remember something about lorne i can,t remember where the colac bit came from it sounds like a great ride thanks alot.

you've missed october 15th, which left Forest (not far from colac), but the next one is late november...
