American team. American teams and their riders don't dope,
as well established in RBR. This violation of long established
cycling practice and tradition may be typical American
brashness, but it rubs Simon, a fan of cycling tradition
(even including the UCI technical rules) the wrong way.
It's really quite simple when you look at it logically.

Yes, people in Europe had been doping since the year dot, but on a voodoo
witchdoctor superstition kind of basis. It was, in my opinion, America
which took this (highly unsafe and undesirable but not particularly
effective) craft practice and streamlined it into an engineering
discipline.

I'm not defending people who knock up bizarre concoctions of drugs on the
basis of hunches, whims, tradition, the chickens entrails and the phase of
the moon, but I do think they do less harm to cycling.
